Well our fancy database/cart just broke… I’m currently on the phone with Scott. More information and groveling in a few minutes… 12:10am
UPDATE: 12:22am
We’re going again in ~8minutes or so. That’s 12:30am CST. All the orders from that flip we just did will be canceled via Google. No one who ordered between 12:00 and 12:10 will be charged anything.
If you stick around and buy a shirt here in a few minutes use this coupon code: “BAD-CART-1110″ - 33% off purchase and shipping costs. (This coupon code is 1 per person and will expire in an hour.)
FINAL UPDATE: 1:44am
Well, that was fun… (except that it wasn’t.)
We screwed up our normal changeover at midnight and had to cancel the 76 orders that came in for the same 2 shirts; “Intrusion” numbers one and two. By recovering quickly we managed a bit of a do-over at 12:30.
We ended up taking a $150+ hit on the coupon code, but that’s OK. Above all else, we always want to deliver a good experience to you, the users of the site. The overwhelming majority of our customers were very cool about it. Thanks so much for your understanding.
-Wade
P.S. Scott, you owe me $150. So just, uh, subtract it from my Scott-doesn’t-actually-code-for-free tab.

The quarter-millionth visitor hit the 200 Nipples server last night! Woot!
We launched June 16th, so that’s 3,893 visits per day. (There were spikes of up to 31k/day; that’s an average.)
96 people are subscribed to this very blog and 1,107 people are subscribed to our new design reminder service that goes out 24 hours before a new design goes on sale. (Not to mention that we’ve sold and shipped a bunch of sweet shirts that are totally unique.)
Not too shabby at all. Thanks to Scott and Shandra for all your hard work. And thanks to all of you for following along, and writing about us and linking to us.
To celebrate, I’m extending the SUPPORT-IS-GO! (15% off product and shipping) coupon code to 09/31/08.

Well, we’re profitable, time to scale…
We’re going from a monthly to a two-week design cycle starting on Monday, August 18th. This means…
- More money for our designers
- More great shirts for you
- More shots at that $1 tee
- And more more work for us (’Makes us happy. Weird…)
The overall effect will be a tighter community and more resources for us to put into making killer tees. Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported us so far. Use coupon code SUPPORT-IS-GO! (expires 08/31/08) for 15% off your next order.
Stay in the loop: Read this blog post to find out how you can get an email and/or RSS reminder the day before the next shirt goes on sale. (It’s super-easy and we won’t spam you.)
We got our first shipment of shirts this morning and they look great! It took much longer to get this first batch in since we had to work out some kinks in our proof approval process and such. But we’ve got it down now and the “One Shirts” that were ordered during beta testing will go Monday!
And, most assuredly, some that aren’t.
At the behest of a user, I’ve opened up comments on all blog posts. Enjoy…
(If there’s anything else you’d like, let us know we’ll try to deliver as long as I don’t have to open a vein or something.)
200Nipples is making some (small) waves out and about on the net. Check out some of the external stuff going on:
- Pop Culture Tees referred to our business model as a punch line. I kinda’ like that.
- Dio Bach says we suckered him with our good idea.
- Good discussion going on over at Yewknee.com.
- Yewknee got us picked up by The Dope Fiend.
- 17 favorites and 3 comments at MetaFilter Projects.
- Hacker News is digging us here and here.
Oooooooh, look at how web 2.0 we are. We’ve got comments. We can have a community…
I’ve added some commenting to the blog, but only on the new design announcements. This is where discussions on each new design will take place. The first design announcement, and hence, the first place you can comment is here. Now, go make me some user generated content, so I can stop spending every free minute I have populating this site.
Oh, and in a brutal stroke of irony: At 7:37am on July 2nd, 2008, in The Power & Light District, downtown Kansas City, the stoplights aren’t working.
The new shirt notification email failed to go out yesterday. The new design went on sale this morning. If you’re signed up on the new shirt notification email, it will hit your inbox tonight, when it should have gone out last night.
It was completely human error. (Mine, specifically.) I apologize; it will be on time from now on.

The “One Shirt” was sold to friends and family during the beta test. It is a number 1 made up of 100 t-shirts to commemorate our first design for sale on the site. It was designed by me.
All the other designs will have their own “New Shirt Reminder” post that will serve as a place to discuss the design. The “One Shirt” will never have such a post, so this will serve as place for discussion for the “One Shirt.”

- Layout fix for the button grid Internet Explorer 6 (Firefox: It’s free, safer and faster.)

- A contact form email delivery confirmation message that actually displays
- Improved multiple-cart count down accuracy on the home page
- Sizing charts for all shirts
- Two quashed typos
We work hard for the money! Woo- Woo… This beta test will end July 1st. At that time we’ll have a new shirt design and be promoting like mad.
The cart seems to be handling the first few sales fabulously. Tip of the hat to Scott who designed the thing!
We’re up and running. This beta test will last until the 07-01-08. Thank you for coming by. Use the contact page to let us know what you think of the place and especially the ordering process, if you buy a shirt.
Welcome to the 200 Nipples Blog. It is the source for the latest news and events going on at 200Nipples.com: sellers of killer t-shirts from $1 to $100.
I’m Wade and I will be doing most of the writing on this blog. Stick around and I’ll keep you posted on new designs, whatever else is going on in our world, and how it may or may not affect you.
-Wade
You want to be part of the magic, eh? Sweet. We want you to be part of it, too. Use our contact page to send us a link to your online portfolio, or Flickr account, or snail-mail us a hard copy of something you’ve done. Just provide us with a way to see your mad skills in illustration and design. If we’re pickin’ up what you’re puttin’ down, we’ll be in touch (You should provide us with a way to get in touch with you, as well.)
We are Kansas City based, so we’ll probably give preference to artists in KC, Lawrence or Columbia. We love it here, and we want to foster creativity ’round these parts. Having said that, if your sauce is hot enough, we’ll take you anyway.
We don’t expect you to give us free design work, but there’s more than a million ways to skin that cat, and we find different designers want different things anyway. (Glory, cash, beer.) So, we negotiate mutually satisfactory agreements with all of our designers, one on one. If you have a form, or an amount, of compensation in mind, tell us up front when you submit your stuff.
Good luck!
